In preparations for the Beijing 2008 Olympics, China has sprucing up their facilities. Well, I'm not sure if "sprucing up" is the right term for it... perhaps, "dressing down" is more like it.
As any true bathroom connoisseur knows, visiting a lavatory is an experience in and of itself. A poorly lit or awkwardly designed bathroom can really spoil the sometimes the time and effort you spent getting there.
Oh, China... I think you understand this well. In Chongqing, a city in south-central China, the public restroom has been transformed into a unique experience. They offer outdoor urinals, for those preferring for a more natural environment, and even some with a Virgin Mary theme! And the sinks? Well, let's just say that the Chinese are giving little boys some new ideas for extracurricular activities.
